November 3rd – Professional Development for STEAM Curriculum

In the spirit of the K-12 District in which the elementary, middle, and high schools collaborate regularly, this is the second year in a row that SI Tech is offering a STEAM PD on Election Day, specifically geared to support elementary and middle school teachers with implementing and sustaining STEAM programs.

While SI Tech is regularly collaborating with elementary and middle schools via our FIRST Lego Robotics and various STEAM and CTE programs, it’s our desire to expand upon these efforts. Through offering this borough-wide Professional Development opportunity, we assist with laying the groundwork on Staten Island for the Chancellor and Mayor’s 10-year “Equity & Excellence” initiative, with the goal of “Computer Science for All.”

We would like to share some innovative programs that SITHS and community partner organizations have to offer within the STEAM fields that can have a positive impact on your STEAM programs such as:
Staten Island MakerSpace and STEAM Wagon: Representives from this organization will be attending to help you learn more about this great resource Click here
